My uniform

Ha ha I've lost my head : )
Tee hee head still missing : )
Dotti jeans
Bonds tee
Cue blazer
EOS boots (similar here)

Does it get better than jeans, tee and a blazer for a mindless (and stylish) outfit?
This little butterfly necklace is made using recycled aluminium, designed and made by fromblank who are an Aussie company whose designs are based on the re-use of materials and products! I was lucky enough to win this piece via their blog.

On another note I reached 1,000 followers on Google Friend Connect this week!!!!  I am absolutely blown away by the amazing blogger community I am now a part of.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for following me, for all your lovely comments, and ongoing support.  I truly do appreciate it.

Out to bruch at Maling Road, Camberwell with one of bestest friends from my uni days, also a Michelle!  My friend Michelle is very tall so at uni she was "Big Michelle", I am a shorty so was "little Michelle" and we also had a middle Michelle! The three of us were inseperable thoughout uni and it was always a laugh introducing ourselves to people. Ahh such FUN times!!!  Our nicknames "Big" and "little" have stuck with us to this day too : )

Well today I'm wearing jeggings... (what was that you say), jeggings... (say again), okay I admit it, I am wearing JEGGINGS!  I know these are probably a mortal fashion sin but if you had seen that darn sexy Supre ad getting around on the Melbourne trams you would want these too!!

p.s. Awesome, awesome giveaway coming soon!!!
p.p.s I notice I have used a lot of exclamation (!) marks in this post, hope I haven't alarmed you.  I've just had a pretty good week and am a tad excitable at the moment.

My Melbourne - Chapel St

[2009- source: Scotticus]

A few of my lovely readers now have written to me and asked me to share my favourite spots in Melbourne.  Sooooooo, I thought I would start writing a post every now and again with a brief snapshot of favourite places here in my beloved Melbourne/ Victoria.  I hope you enjoy this series of posts, and if you have any requests for places you want me to write about around Melbourne please drop me a line (michellesstylefile@hotmail.com)

I have lived in some really, really beautiful places in Australia throughout my life- growing up in the Blue Mountains, Kiama on the South Coast of NSW, Canberra our National Capital, and of course Melbourne in Victoria.

My husband and I moved to Melbourne from Canberra, virtually on a whim, 4.5 years ago and we haven't looked back since.  I quit my job that I loved, we sold our little house, we left our friends and family to embark on a bit of an adventure!  The lifestyle here is fabulous, over time we have made many wonderful friends, we think the food and coffee is amazing, and of course there is the fashion! And don't worry our families are only a short flight away : )

Chapel Street, South Yarra had to be my first of my My Melbourne series.  I simply love it!

SHOP:
Chapel St = Fashion!
Everything one could possible need is here on Chapel St, all the best fashion stores are here.  It has sophistication and style with many popular brand stores as well as designer labels and fashion boutiques. And the best bit- I always get good service (even if I'm in my daggy bicycle gear riding home from work and couldn't resist those seductive window displays!)

If you love poking around bizarre bits and bobs from years past you have got to check out The Chapel St Bazaar.  It is a literal treasure trove filled with retro home wares, second hand chinaware, vintage jewellery and clothing.  Many an hour to be lost in here : )

EAT:
For brunch or coffee Kazbar is cosy, friendly and yummy.  Did I mention I LOVE COFFEE!!  I digress... for lunch my absolute favourite is Pink Ginger who make THE BEST brown rice sushi with plenty of green tea on tap (see HERE), plus I hear it is one of Danni Minouge's fav places! (Haven't spotted her yet though).  For dinner, trendy Greville St has heaps of great options.

DRINK:
There’s no better place to spend a lazy afternoon people watching than at The Imperial.  If you can make it there on a weekday, their lunch specials are brilliant too.

Have you ever been to Chapel St?

p.p.s. Back to outfits next post!

Grandma's shoes

I have no idea what that shadow is, but it's a bit funky ; )
Zara tee
Marcs shirt
Bardot skirt (simliar ASOS versions here, here & here)
Vintage heels (simliar exxy stunner here)

When I spotted this skirt I had to have it... I didn't care if it fitted, suited me, whatever... I was instantly in love with those pretty blush pink pleats!

NOW to the shoes, these suede heels are from my Grandma- 1950's originals.  How AMAZING are they!  And I might add that both my Grandma and my YaiYai (Greek for Grandma) are amazing style icons and wonderful role models to me.  My YaiYai passed away about 15 years ago now but I still remember her so well.
Do you have a stylish Grandma?

Stripes all over

Heels from Country Road (similiar here)
Belt & wrist candy from Thailand markets- see my June posts

I received this dress is the post last week from the lovely folk at Shop Sosie online boutique.  A striped maxi dress is one of those classic Spring wardrobe pieces, and the gathered elastic waist on this dress makes it even better!  The fabric is the softest jersey and it is such a beautifully comfortable dress to wear.

See my post HERE to hear more about hair and make up artist Miss Aimmey.

Saba Style

I was lucky enough to receive an invite to the launch of the new SABA store on Collins Street, Melbourne on Monday night.  A big thank you to Jude from HotHouse Media & Events for the invite!!

SABA started in Melbourne way back in 1965 as the Joseph Saba Shirt Shop so it is so exciting to see local brand now at the forfront of Australian fashion.

The new store looks amazing! Here are some of my pics from the launch.
I love the colour range!  And those tassels!!
Shirt and shoes by Zara
Sportsgirl leather pants (similiar here)
Diva, vintage and other random jewellery (simliar here)

SABA's latest collection is called 'The New Simplicity', it's full of classic styles, beautiful long lines and striking hues of cobalt, turquoise, scarlet and orange.  And I must say their new range of bags and purses is stunning!

During the night I met gorgeous Westfield stylists Victoria and Jo who kept me company; as well as fellow Melbourne blogger, the charming Thom from Everyones Celebrity.  I was also lucky enough to meet the Saba General Manager Inger- she has the most amazing smile! Oh and she said SABA loves bloggers : )

Time to embrace the new season- Spring!!

Makeover by Miss Aimmey

Check out those false eyelashes- a first for me and I don't think I can go back now!!
I had to promise Miss Aimmey I wouldn't sleep in them ; )
This weekend I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Aimmey of
and her man behind the camera, her lovely boyfriend Phil.

Surprisingly this was the first time EVER that I have had my make up professionally done (and that includes my wedding), and the first time I've had a full head of rollers.  It was wonderful to be in the hands of an expert and I was stoked with the result!

Check out Miss Aimmey's website and blog HERE.
To all my fellow Melbournians, I highly recommend Miss Aimmey for your special day, whatever that may be.

p.s. Massive THANK YOU to Phil for these photos!
