January has become the month of wonderful getaways and day trips.  On Saturday we hit the road and headed out of Melbourne and to Torquay for the day- about a 1 hour drive.  After a delightful lunch (of cake) we went to Back Beach and straight in to the surf with the boogie board.  The beach was soooo busy but it was still wonderful- the ocean really is good for the soul.

Summer has finally arrived in Melbourne and it is glorious- an entire week of gorgeous sunny weather- Hooray!!! 

Just before these pics I had a massage, so please don't be surprised if you can spot towel imprinted onto my forehead ; )  By the way if any of you Melbourne locals are looking for an amazing masseuse I can highly recommend Winsome from Armadale Remedial Massage.

A day in the Yarra Valley

On Sunday husband and I took a day trip out to the Yarra Vally, one of Melbourne's wine regions for the most beautiful looong lunch at Train Trak vineyard where these pics were taken.  We had such a nice time and couldn't imagine why we haven't done it more often! There is no doubt we'll be back there again very soon for another long lunch and to suss out another winery!

On another note I have only recently discovered Saba denim and I LOVE it.  The perfect amount of stretch and amazing fit, I can see me adding a few more to my collection.

Last weekend hubby and I departed Melbourne and headed bush into outback NSW to visit one of my very dear girlfriends and her hubby on their farm.  And I'm not talking a hobby farm here either, it's huuuge! After 6 hours of driving, and with a bit more to go, we stopped and took my pics in the very middle of the highway without another car in sight.

We had such an awesome weekend away filled with good fun and great food!! I even tried water skiing for the first time which is THE BEST- check out some crazy faces and epic crashes on my Facebook page.

Now you might say I'm a bit dressed up for a road tip but seriously this maxi dress was the perfect thing to wear, so comfy just like a giant mu mu!!

 

p.s.  Please excuse my rather crinkled dress, that's what you get for sitting in a car for so long ; )

I made a conscious decision to include more skirts in my life and when I found this one at Australian fashion label Arabella Ramsay in High St, Armadale I fell in love. Cute is the word for it, with little turquoise and pink flowers...really, just cute!
Super short though, would NOT want to wear this on a windy day ; )

Nope, I am not in Hong Kong, but "One night in HK" is indeed the name of this fabulous playsuit.
I've never ever worn a playsuit before but I absolutely LOVE this amazing royal blue silk number from Vamastyle!  Perfect day or night this playsuit is the perfect addition to my Summer wardrobe!  On this evening I wore it with matching nails, fluro heels and gunmetal jewellery for dinner out with my hubby.

Super hot in Melbourne on the weekend so this nice and cool, cute as pie Summer dress from Beginning Boutique was just the thing, girl-i-fied to the max with pops of pink (or should this fashionista say fuchsia ; )

Patchy sunlight was the forecast and it was one of those precious sunny patches where I grabbed these snaps.  Hubby and I took our car in for its service a few days ago and for the couple hours we had to wait until it was ready we grabbed the courtesy car and headed to Port Phillip Bay, just near Brighton for a picnic with a Cherry-ripe to finish.  A lovely way to while away the time.

On another note it is now the ONE YEAR 'blog-iversary' of Michelle's Style File!
