Japan- Anyone for oysters & sake?

Jeans- Saba
Tee- Marcs
Shirt- Sportscraft
Bag, thanks to Ooh La La Accessories
Teapea shoes, thanks to Steve Madden

Something I didn't know was that Hiroshima, Japan is famous for its oysters, so what does that mean? It means oysters for lunch : ) And they were amaze- BBQ'd, big, meaty and delicious.  Of course with rather a big glass of sake to wash them down- perfect!

These pics were taken on a little island off Hiroshima called Miyajima, here we found the Itsukushima Shrine.  At high tide the shrine appears to float on the water, it's pretty cool.  We spent the whole day at the island, so by the time we left it was low tide and we could actually walk out to it!

This place was the mildest of our trip, I was SO excited to get down to a t-shirt for a little while, and to CARRY my jacket- Woohoo!! I should also take this opportunity to point out the cute little shoes from Steve Madden that I'm wearing- they are as comfy as slippers and were my staple shoe for my holiday!

RMK

Can you see the bee?  He's right there, hovering in front of my skirt in the first pic- I think I may have actually made eye contact with in that very moment the photo was captured.  Despite all manner of begging and pleading he continued to toy with me, causing me to pull ridiculous expressions and leap around like a woman possessed just as my photograph was being taken- cheeky fellow! THEN it started raining.  So thanks to Mr Bee, strange expressions and all, these are my pics for today : )

On another note I'm in love with these boots, no doubt they will be my Autumn/Winter staple.

ANNNNND will you be at Nuffnang Fashionopolis
It's Australia's first ever industry day for fashion bloggers and it is going to be held right here in Melbourne.  It looks to be an amazing day of networking and learning about the business of blogging.
Be sure to book now, time is running out!!  I look forward to seeing you there : )

Scarf- Witchery
Icebreaker Bliss Wrap, thanks to Natureshop

I love a bit of diagonal photography, but gee whizz, it seems I went a little nuts in Japan and have managed to take a fair whack of crooked pics... apparently on purpose!  I do wonder what on earth I was thinking, and I do hope I'm not driving you nuts with my arty-farty photos : )

The garden pics were taken at the Imperial Palace in Kyoto, only open for 4 days a year, and timed perfectly with our visit!  The deer is a friendly deer who lives in Nara where we visited the largest wooden structure in the world- the Great Buddha Hall.  Rather spectacular indeed.

Japan- Black eggs and a bit of luxury

OUTFIT 1:
Shirt- Sportscraft
Boots- Aldo
Scarf- Witchery

OUTFIT 2:
Scarf- Witchery
Shirt- Zara
Jeans- Saba

From the amazing and crazy Tokyo we headed up the mountains, and I mean UP, to Gora.  A little town in the Hakone region of Japan near Mt Fuji.  We had splashed out on some insane accommodation here for 2 luxurious nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  Boy was it worth it- such a beautifully traditional and amazing place!!  We were even served breakfast and dinner (each a veritable feast) in our room by our housekeeper- very surreal, but extremely awesome : )

It was freeeeeezing cold so a thermal under my woolen dress, plus another shirt on top, plus the jacket and I was barely warm enough for a half-day trip further up the mountain to find black eggs cooked pretty much in a volcano!  Word is they add 7-years to your life. I ate two ; )   Then a wonderful afternoon staying warm and relaxing at our ryokan.

We were given a kimono, puffa vest, special socks and thongs which we were to wear while at the ryokan.  We could even wear it to the village if we wanted too!

You can read my review of this dress- HERE

Japan- Tokyo photo diary

If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram you may have gathered that for the last 2 weeks I have been on holiday in amazing Japan.  Now that I am back home in sunny Melbourne, Australia I thought I would share with you some of my outfits and favourite pics from Tokyo.  It was pretty chilly so thank goodness for my travel perfect jacket from Pilgrim Clothing which I wore every day!

We stayed in traditional style accommodation at Ueno, Tokyo.   We were right near a huge park which was filled which cherry blossoms just coming into bloom- so beautiful!  Along with Uneo cherry blossoms, also pictured is the busiest intersection in the world at Shibuya at night (10,000 people every crossing!!), Shinjuku (electronics galore!!), green tea icecream (interesting!!), kimono action, sushi (yum!!) and details from shrines we visited (so beautiful!!).
