Dyson V6 Absolute review

You know, British fashion designer and Vogue cover girl Victoria Beckham and me, hanging, doing our vacuuming with our Dyson V6 Absolute! It really must be the perfect vacuum cleaner, why else would Victoria be using it!!!! Also good to know that this lovely machine is actually available to all of us mere mortals.

I received this Dyson V6 Absolute last week and have absolutely loved using it.

My two year old Ash is prone to upending a bowl (make that the box) of dry cornflakes or weet-bix onto the carpet, add to that crackers and biscuits and whatever else he gets his hands on, and for extra giggles will grind it with his feet.  Hilarious stuff.  This is when this Dyson stick vacuum cleaner is at its element! I can whip it off its docking station fully charged and ready to go, suck up the mess in an absolute instant, empty hygienically straight into the bin and pop back into its docking station for next time... probably 30 minutes later :/   But seriously, juggling full-time work, being a mum, blogging, and life in general; anything that can makes things a bit easier is a real bonus.  I'm sure a lot of you are with me on that one.

I've also found that because this Dyson stick vacuum cleaner is SO powerful I haven't actually used the 'proper' vacuum cleaner at all.  Also the convenience of not having to lug out that 'proper' vacuum cleaner is fantastic, particularly considering we have carpeted stairs which always makes vacuuming extra fun (not).  The Dyson V6 Absolute easily gives me just as good a result without the extra weight (its only 2.3kg), plus I don't have to worry about filling up the bag and losing suction because the bag is getting fuller, and the extra expense of bags. It's also reassuring to know that the filter expels air cleaner than we breathe, so that means no little dust particles and allergens in the air to irritate sensitive lungs.

I also find it really handy to vacumn the car, again with a two year old, something that is done rather regularly.

Drilling down to details, the Dyson V6 Absolute comes with TWO Dyson engineered cleaner heads; one best for hard floors and one best for carpet.  Add to that a mini motorised tool, crevice tool, combination tool and a docking station and you may as well toss your 'proper' vacuum cleaner out the door.  You can read more about all the specs on the Dyson website.  I honestly highly recommend this product, it gives a fantastic result, is easy to use and a real time saver.

Thriller Live

I had the utmost pleasure of attending the opening night of Thriller Live recently.  A spectacular concert created to celebrate the King of Pop Michael Jackson and the magic of his 45 year musical history.

Expect your favourite songs delivered by an exceptionally talented cast and band, including: I Want You Back, ABC, Can You Feel It, Off The Wall, The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Billie Jean, Dirty Diana, Bad, Rock With You, They Don’t Care About Us, Dangerous, Heal The World, and Thriller.  I couldn't help but get up on my feet to dance and sing along. And be sure to keep on cheering because the encore performance is well worth seeing!

Sadly the Melbourne season has finished now, but you can still catch the show in Sydney, Thursday 26 February to Sunday 15 March, 2015 at the Sydney Lyric.

NeoSkin

Recently I had the utmost pleasure of visiting one of Victoria's most respected skin clinics, neoSKiN on Bridge Road, Richmond for a treatment.  The premises themselves are beautiful, light filled and modern.  While waiting I was treated to nuts, berries and coconut water before being taken into my treatment room.  The ambiance of the room itself was lovely, with high ceilings, pretty candles, and a comfy spot to lie down.  I had packed a cardigan in my handbag because I normally get a bit cold if I'm lying still for a while, but I actually got to get under the covers of what I can best describe as a comfy doona so I was warm, and able to relax completely. After assessing my skin and identifying problem areas, my consultant Suzanne decided that an neoOxygen facial would be best for my current skin condition, the perfect treatment option to replenish my skin with essential nutrients and hydration.

Wow wee, Suzanne was fantastic!  I felt like I was in the hands of an expert. The face massage was AMAZING, as was the head, neck, arm and hand massage.  The treatment went for one hour and afterwards I felt completely blissed out.  Plus, there was no doubt about it, my skin looked so plumped and fabulous afterwards that the wrinkles around my eyes had all but disappeared! So much so that I was happy to post a photo of my face, make up free to Instagram.

Ideally one should have a facial once a month, but if less is what you can afford, your skin will still thank you.  There is no doubt I'll be back to neoSKiN myself as a paying customer.

In addition to the Richmond clinic, neoSKiN are also located in Williamstown and South Melbourne.  They offer a range of non-invasive cosmetic treatments to suit all skin concerns, from specialised skin programs, facials and microdermabrasion, to IPL, laser hair removal and injectables.

Earthwise

I have something a little differnt from my usual blog post to share today, and that is Earthwise laundry products.  Earthwise is NZ's leading all-natural producer of powerful plant and mineral based cleaning products, and they have just landed on Australian shelves.  So wonderful for us Aussies to have access to laundry products that are environmentally kind and gentle on the skin!

All their products are phosphate, nitrate, chlorine and ammonia free. And by choosing Earthwise, you are also helping reduce the level of toxic chemicals in our waterways and oceans.

I must admit that I tend to use whatever laundry powder is on sale, cheapest or catches my eye in the supermarket but I have been very happy with the result with Earthwise products.  Our clothes, including my usually pumpkin and carrot stained baby's clothes with their dirty knees, as well as my husbands work clothes have been coming up beautifully clean.  I had a couple of pieces which I soaked over night in 1/2 a scoop before putting them in the wash as usual- the stains came right out!

The scoop is easily half the size of the regular size scoop, so the product will last you twice as long.  As Earthwise say, 37 washes for $7.99 (less than 22 cents/wash).

Borne Naked

Check out this genius creation by clever lady, Amanda George.  It's a clear handbag liner designed to help you de-clutter and get organised. Borne Naked  liners come in three sizes: small, medium and large.  The medium size is perfect for most of my handbags so I've organised my everyday essentials into it to make it easier to transfer them from one bag to the next.  The large size is perfect to stash my nappy bag essentials- I can then toss it into the bottom of the pram, or into one of my large handbags.  Brilliant!

Oh! I also made a couple of Vine video's of me using these liners- find me on Vine at 'MichellesStyleFile'.

I'll be back with outfit posts soon :)

Groupon

Who doesn't love a massage!  And when you get $85 value for $39 who could resist!!  So I bought TWO one hour massages, one for me, and one for my husband.
A saving of $92 thanks to Groupon : )

The massage was at Izumi Japanese Massage which I though would be a nice trip down memory lane from our trip to Japan earlier this year.  I must admit it look me a couple of months to get the exact time and date that suited me so I encourage you to book early, as soon as you receive your voucher.

My husband really enjoyed his massage, however because I was 5 months pregnant (and due to 'safety reasons') they would only give me a half-hour shoulder and arm rub instead the planned one hour full body massage- a huge bummer and a lack of planning on my part! Mind you the shoulder rub was just great.  We also received a $15 voucher each to use for our next visit.

Groupon have so many great providers so in deciding what to do with my Groupon voucher it got a little tricky- think meal deals, beauty treatments, accommodation, day trips, overseas holidays, carpet cleaning- the list goes on.  Certainly well worth subscribing to their newsletter for your city so you can keep an eye on the deals on offer.

p.s. I've got a heap of outfit posts up my sleeve to share with you and an amazing giveaway coming soon!
